Every so often, you come across an idea that is so fantastic, but at the same time, so simple and obvious, you can’t believe you didn’t think of it yourself. And then once you see it, you can’t figure out why it hasn’t been adopted everywhere.
Over the past weekend, I was in Wisconsin with my daughter (which is why I didn’t write for a bit). We had to wake up at 4am CST (2am PST) to get to the airport for our 7am flight.
I knew we’d get there early and then have to kill a bunch of time. But what I didn’t know is that we’d come across this:
Coincidentally, my daughter had just played her first ping pong ever over the weekend, so when she saw it, she was begging to play. Fortunately, there was no one using it, so we were able to quickly kill almost 45 minutes on it… with no one else giving any indication that they wanted to step in and play.
If you’re one who arrives early at airports when travelling, you know that there’s a lot of time sitting around in a terminal waiting to be killed. A ping pong table is just the thing.
I was impressed someone had thought to put that there, and even more impressed that I’d never seen one anywhere else.
It’s a great idea that I hope catches on to the rest of the country.
