Has it occurred to anyone that Iraq and Afghanistan both border Iraq, and if we had allies in both countries, we’d effectively have Iran surrounded?
It’s obvious, sure… when you look at it. However, I’ve never heard anyone mention it in defending or criticizing either of those wars, and I’d never noticed it myself until now.
It all makes sense now. Almost not a bad plan, when you think of it that way.
As an aside, remember when the TV news and newspapers provided a daily death toll during the Iraq war? How come we don’t see that with Afghanistan?
