Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show ended with the phrase “world peace” written across the field for all to see.
It’s a common and friendly sentiment, to be sure. But I recently came across a great question that I’d never thought of before (can’t remember where – apologies to the source):
Why not “world freedom”?
I love the question. Peace can exist under a dictatorship. Freedom cannot.
To me, “world freedom” is a thoughtful improvement on “world peace.”
