Cure cancer or stop aging…?

Interesting question came up today:

If you could do one of the two, which would you pick… find a cure for cancer or figure out a way to stop the physical effects of aging on the human body?

Some conditions: If you pick stopping the physical effects of aging, you could still die of cancer, heart disease and any other natural way to die. It’s just that while you’re living, you can inhabit a younger body for the duration of your life.

If you cure cancer, your body will still continue to age, so even people start living longer, their body will still go through the natural slow erosion it currently does. It just might last a bit longer.

So, what do you think?

– My name is Jon Friesch, and I think I would choose slowing the physical effects of aging.

I wish to kick cancer to the curb.

I can certainly appreciate that. The trouble with this hypothetical is that so many people have felt the real effects of cancer, but physical aging doesn’t really stop anyone.
