Improving the exit row experience

We recently flew to Iceland, and my wife asked me, “Why are people in the exit row allowed to drink if it’s so important that they know how to and are able to work the door?”

An excellent question.

Personally, I would like to see that and physical size added to the restrictions. As a 6’4″ person, I bristle every time I see a 5’4″ tall person sitting in the exit row. There aren’t many seats on planes for tall or big people. It would be great if the airlines could have their own amusement park sign at the gate that says “you must be this tall (6 feet, at least) to sit in the exit row.
