No, not this blog. Not even close.
But when I was with NewTunes.com in 2008, I started a blog to promote the site. We were in development and had no product to place on the domain http://www.newtunes.com, so I wrote a blog there as a placeholder with the intent of just folding it in to the main site when it was ready.
Unfortunately, thanks to a bad decision to listen to one of the board members, the site never really made it live and this blog is all that remains (hence the name of the blog).
I worked hard at the blog and wrote about music as much as I could. I also played with as many digital marketing tools at the time as I could – AdWords, Facebook ads, linkbuilding, Digg placement, etc.
After we folded, I kept the blog alive for awhile because I was enjoying it. Then after putting it down for a bit, I rediscovered it when I moved to Seattle… but then let it drop again as I worked on an different blog.
Finally, as I was working on this one, I decided to check in on it, only to find that my posts had been read over 473,000 times since I started it. It never dawned on me that I had left such a digital legacy.
So, I decided to resume it and focus on music on that one – which is what it was always about, anyway.
So, if you want to help me get to 474,000, please give it a read.
